Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Templotix (“we”, “our”, “us”) publishes editorial reviews, comparisons and guides about productivity templates, software and workflow tools at templotix.com.

Templotix is operated as a sole proprietorship from Howrah, West Bengal, India. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”) we are the Data Fiduciary for personal data collected through this site. For visitors in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we act as the data controller under the GDPR and UK GDPR.

2. What we collect

2.1 Information you give us

We only collect what a form asks for:

• Newsletter signup — your email address.
• Contact form — your name, email address and the message you write.

We do not operate user accounts, and we do not ask for payment details. We do not knowingly collect any special or sensitive category of personal data.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we record standard technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed and time of visit. This is used in aggregate to understand which articles are useful and to keep the site working.

3. Why we process it, and on what basis

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your data to train machine learning models.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use analytics cookies to count visits and understand which pages are read. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run retargeting.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them, though some preferences will not persist between visits.

5. Who else handles your data

We use a small number of service providers. Each processes data only on our instructions and for the purpose listed below.

We may also disclose personal data where we are required to by law, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

6. Transfers outside India

Our hosting and form providers are based in the United States, so your data is transferred and stored outside India. The DPDP Act permits transfers to countries other than those the Central Government restricts by notification. Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses as incorporated in our providers' terms.

7. How long we keep it

• Newsletter email addresses — until you unsubscribe, and deleted within 30 days of that.
• Contact messages — up to 24 months, so we can follow up on an earlier conversation.
• Analytics data — retained in aggregate according to each provider's default retention period.

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, as a Data Principal you may:

• ask what personal data of yours we hold and how it is processed
• ask us to correct, complete or update inaccurate data
• ask us to erase your data where we no longer need it
• withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it
• nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity
• raise a grievance with us, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India

If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you additionally have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to complain to your national supervisory authority.

9. Grievance Officer

As required by the DPDP Act, complaints about how we handle personal data can be addressed to our Grievance Officer:

We acknowledge grievances within 7 days and aim to resolve them within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

10. Children

Under the DPDP Act, a child is anyone under 18. This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. We do not carry out behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising directed at children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, email us and we will delete it.

11. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are transmitted over encrypted connections, and access to submitted data is limited to the site operator. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected Data Principals as required.

12. Affiliate links

Some pages may contain affiliate links. Where they do, clicking one may set a cookie with the merchant so a referral can be attributed. This is explained in full in our affiliate disclosure.

13. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes we update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how we use your personal data, we will say so on the site and, where required, ask for your consent again.
