Lowercase g, step by step

  1. 1Start a little below the midline and curve back around like a c, closing the circle at the midline.
  2. 2Slide straight down, past the baseline.
  3. 3Loop to the left and swing back up through the baseline.

Capital G, step by step

  1. 1Start at the baseline on the left and swing up to the top line.
  2. 2Make a loop, then curve down and around to the baseline.
  3. 3Swing back up and finish with a stroke across the middle to the right.

Watch for: Turning the bottom loop the wrong way. g loops to the left; q loops to the right.

Joining: Lowercase g finishes on the baseline with a small swing up, and that swing carries straight on into the next letter.
