Ideas for the first week
- Share in a circle. Each child reads one fact from their page. Others raise a hand if it is true for them too.
- Guess who. Read a finished page aloud without the name. Can the class guess who wrote it?
- Make a class book. Bind the pages together and keep the book in the class library.
- Do it again in June. Repeat “me in numbers” at the end of the year and compare.
Common questions
When should I use all about me worksheets?
In the first week of school, to learn about your students and help them get to know each other. They also work well for a new student who joins mid-year, or as a quick writing piece to compare with the end of the year.
Which pack should I use?
The kindergarten and 1st grade pack is mostly drawing, circling and short words on handwriting lines. The 2nd and 3rd grade pack asks for more writing. The 4th and 5th grade pack adds goals, opinions and a letter to the teacher.
How can I display them?
Hang the posters on a bulletin board, bind the packs into a class book, or keep them in each student’s portfolio and repeat the "me in numbers" page at the end of the year to see how much has changed.
Can I copy these for my class?
Yes. The PDFs are free to print and photocopy for classroom and home use, in color or in the black-and-white ink saver. Please link to this page rather than re-uploading the files.
